This Privacy Policy explains what information OpenJob AI (the "Service") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the account and billing services we operate from the United States.

1. Information we collect

To run accounts and billing, we store the minimum necessary on our servers:

• Account information — your email address, an optional display name, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google account identifier. Passwords are stored only in hashed form.
• Billing information — your subscription plan, status, and billing timestamps. Payments are handled by Stripe; we do not store your full card number.
• API key — only a one-way hash of your key plus a short, non-secret prefix for display. We never store the working key.
• Targeting preferences — the roles, locations, seniority, and work modes you choose to search for.
• Usage data — counts of applications against your quota, each application's status, and a short note your agent records about it.
• Screening-question catalog — a globally de-duplicated list of the text of screening questions and how often they appear across all users. This never includes your answers.

2. Information that stays on your computer

The agent runs locally on your machine. The following never leave it and are never transmitted to or stored by us:

• your resume and any parsed text from it;
• your answers to application and screening questions;
• the tailored resume and cover-letter PDFs the agent generates;
• the per-job application logs the agent keeps locally.

3. How we use information

We use the information we collect to operate your account, process subscription payments, provide and improve the Service, enforce quotas, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies, including a session cookie (set with SameSite=Lax) to keep you signed in; signing in with Google sets a few additional short-lived cookies to complete that handshake securely. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Third parties and service providers

We share information only with the service providers needed to run the Service, and only as required for them to perform their function:

• Stripe — processes subscription payments.
• Google — provides optional sign-in if you choose to use it.

These providers process information under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information, and we disclose it otherwise only when required by law or to protect the Service and its users.

6. Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. When you close your account or request deletion, we delete your personal information, except for limited records we are required to retain for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].

8. Security

We protect your information with measures such as hashing passwords and API keys and limiting what is stored server-side. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
